Description

FifClimbing School will have a campsite with all the gear you will need to cook, sleep, and enjoy life under the stars.

Each day will begin with a morning yoga session among the joshua trees, you will breathe deeply and thank yourselves. Then, we will take to the rock and climb in one of the premier climbing locations in the country.

The yoga sessions are designed to enhance mental focus and awareness and to stretch-out all those climbing specific muscles. Afterward, you will divide into groups based on experience leve, and set out to the crags for instruction and climbing fun.

Late afternoon, you will return to the campsite to enjoy the beautiful dessert sunsets, as you cook dinner, and have a merry time at the campfire. All equipment you need can be provided free of charge upon request.

Learn from our full staff of female guides who have been in the climbing world for years with experience in sport climbing, bouldering, alpine, multi-pitch, and/or big-wall climbing. All of our guides are certified in the disciplines they teach.

Find your breathe and balance while practicing yoga and scaling the rocks around our camp.

Food is not included as everyone performs best on their own individual diets. However, cooking gear is provided, and there is a vast array of eating options in Twentyone Palms or Joshua Tree, as well as a market.

This retreat will be held in Joshua Tree National Park, in California, USA. Landscape composed of giant chunks of granite, crazy-looking joshua trees, and beautiful star gazing skies, make this one of the most popular climbing locations in the country. Joshua Tree is located about 2 hours from San Diego. It is a world-class climbing and hiking destination.

Teacher

Amy is the founder of FIFTH class. She has been dubbed by John Long as “the high priestess of the High Sierra” and strives to live up to the title. Living in the area for more than a decade, Amy has spent thousands of hours exploring all the hidden gems the area has to offer.

 

With over fifteen years’ experience climbing and mountaineering, Amy has climbed some of the biggest rock walls in the world, including El Capitan and all three towers of Torres Del Paine in Patagonia. After devoting over a decade to establishing first ascents on large rock walls, she is now more inclined to push it sport climbing, occasionally throwing down some big mountain/trad missions or bouldering on the side.

She is an AMGA Aspirant Guide, has training from AIARE, and is a Wilderness First Responder. Amy also works as Lead Safety for Running Wild with Bear Grylls and occasionally works with other productions doing rigging, scouting, and safety.
